Description
Parker Retractor
The Parker retractor is a double-ended hand retractor for shallow wounds. We offer it as a 13.5 cm complete set or as a pair at 18 cm.
13.5 cm complete set
The shorter set suits skin and subcutaneous layers near the surface. So it fits minor procedures, plastic work and small general cases. Also, the complete set gives the team spare pieces on hand.
18 cm set of two
The longer pair adds reach for slightly deeper tissue. Meanwhile, two identical pieces allow pull from both wound edges. Then an assistant can hold one in each hand.
Why double-ended
Each end has a different profile, so one piece does two jobs. As a result, fewer tools crowd the tray. Plus, turning the instrument around takes only a second during a busy case.
Where it fits
General surgery, orthopedic and gynecology trays commonly include a Parker retractor. Likewise, it suits hernia repairs and soft tissue excisions. For deeper wounds, move up to a longer double-ended design with more reach.
Care of Parker retractor
Separate the pieces in the washer so water reaches every surface. Next, scrub each end with a nylon brush and rinse well. Finally, dry the set and count the pieces before wrapping.
