Description
Parker-Mott Retractor Set of 2
The Parker-Mott retractor comes here as a pair of double-ended hand instruments. Each measures about 16 cm and suits shallow wounds.
A pair for two sides
Two matching pieces let the assistant hold both wound edges at once. Alternatively, two assistants can each take one side. Either way, the field opens symmetrically and the surgeon sees straight down into the wound.
Double-ended design
Each instrument offers a different profile at each end. So you turn it around rather than reach for another tool. That keeps the tray lighter, the handoffs quicker and the scrub nurse’s count shorter.
Short and easy to hold
At roughly 15 to 16 cm, it sits comfortably in the palm. In addition, the short length gives fine control near the skin. Then fatigue stays low during long closures.
Common settings
Plastic, hand and general surgeons use a Parker-Mott retractor for superficial exposure. Also, it helps with small hernia repairs and soft tissue lumps. For longer reach, a 21 cm Parker-Langenbeck set suits deeper layers. Also, the two pieces travel together, so a matched pair stays on the tray.
Cleaning Parker-Mott retractor
Wash both pieces in the same load so neither goes missing. Then brush each end along its inner curve, where debris hides. Also, dry the pair well before packing it for sterilization.
