Description
Obwegeser Dissecting Forceps, Tungsten Carbide
Obwegeser forceps are long dissecting forceps from oral and maxillofacial surgery. This version has tungsten carbide inserts in the tips.
Tungsten carbide inserts
The hard inserts carry the grip pattern. As a result, the tips keep their bite through many more cycles than plain steel.
Three lengths
The 15 and 16 cm sizes give control in the mouth. Then the 18 cm size adds reach toward the back of the oral cavity.
Gold handles
Gold handles mark the carbide version on a tray. So your team can pick it out at a glance.
In the clinic
Maxillofacial and oral surgeons use it for handling tissue during jaw and implant surgery. Also, it suits plastic surgery teams working in the face. Carbide inserts also resist wear from repeated contact with bone and teeth. Consequently, the tips keep their bite longer in maxillofacial work. That durability suits busy oral surgery lists, where the same pair sees many cases each week. Also, the gold handles make carbide pairs easy to sort after cleaning. For the 16 cm size, many teams keep two pairs so one is always ready.
Cleaning Obwegeser forceps
Rinse the tips soon after use. Next, brush the carbide inserts gently and dry the forceps. Then check the inserts for chips before sterilization.
