Mini McGee Alligator Micro Ear Forceps

The Mini McGee alligator forceps are small grasping forceps for otology. Ear surgeons pick up grafts, tissue and small objects with them in the ear canal and middle ear.

Small size, fine control

This forceps measures 8 cm, which is compact even among ear instruments. So it suits delicate work where a larger forceps would feel clumsy. The alligator action also opens only the tip, keeping the canal clear.

Serrated or smooth jaws

We offer two jaw options. Serrated jaws give a firmer hold on tissue and fragments. Smooth jaws, on the other hand, handle grafts and thin membranes more gently.

In the ear clinic and operating room

In the operating room, surgeons place and adjust graft material with these forceps. Meanwhile, clinic staff may use them to lift debris or small foreign bodies from the canal. Both jobs need a light grip and a clear view.

Choosing a jaw

If most of your work involves grafts, the smooth jaw is a sensible first choice. However, the serrated jaw grips better when tissue is slippery. Many practices keep both, since each one costs little tray space.

Caring for your Mini McGee forceps

Work the jaws open and shut under warm water right after use. Then brush the small hinge with a soft brush and inspect the tips. Finally, dry the forceps and sterilize them in a guarded tray.
