Description
Mini-Langenbeck Retractor
The Mini-Langenbeck retractor scales the classic right-angle pattern down for small incisions. It measures 16 cm and suits hand, plastic and pediatric surgery.
Four small blades
Blades measure 10 x 6, 17 x 5, 20 x 6 and 22 x 8 mm. So you can pick the shortest blade for a shallow skin cut. Also, the longer blades reach a little deeper into soft tissue.
Right-angle hold
The blade bends at a right angle to hook under the wound edge. Then a light pull from the assistant opens the incision. As a result, the view stays clear with very little force on the skin.
Compact size
Because the instrument stays short, the assistant works close to the field. However, it still gives enough grip for a steady, even pull. Plus, it fits neatly into small procedure trays.
Common cases
Hand surgeons use it on tendons, nerves and small joints. Meanwhile, pediatric teams rely on it for their smaller patients. Likewise, plastic surgeons use it for skin flaps and fine tissue.
Reprocessing Mini-Langenbeck retractor
Rinse the small blade right after use so debris cannot dry in the corner. Then brush the bend with a fine brush and rinse once more. Finally, dry the instrument and keep it in a small-instrument rack.
