Description
Micro Grasping Forceps
Micro grasping forceps hold delicate tissue and vessels under magnification. They come with 1.0 or 2.0 mm jaws.
Two jaw widths
The 1.0 mm jaws suit the smallest structures. By contrast, the 2.0 mm jaws spread the grip over more tissue.
Diamond-dusted grip
The diamond-dusted version has a fine abrasive coating on the jaws. Therefore it holds smooth tissue without slipping.
Gentle hold
The broad jaws spread pressure evenly. So they suit vessels and nerves that tear easily.
When to choose which
Choose plain jaws for general microsurgical holding. Then pick the diamond-dusted jaws when tissue keeps sliding out of the grip. Also, the 2.0 mm size helps when you need to lift a wider flap. In addition, the diamond-dusted jaws help with slippery tissue such as vessel walls and nerve sheaths. Meanwhile, the plain jaws clean more easily and suit routine holding. For example, a hand unit might keep one plain 1.0 mm pair and one diamond-dusted 2.0 mm pair.
Reprocessing micro grasping forceps
Rinse the micro grasping jaws gently after surgery. Next, clean the diamond-dusted surface only with a soft brush, since harsh tools wear the coating. Then dry the forceps and store them in their case.
