Description
Micro Dissector
This micro dissector separates delicate tissue under the operating microscope. Neurosurgeons and spine surgeons use it to free nerves, vessels and membranes in small spaces.
Fine dissection
Microsurgery calls for small tips that move tissue without tearing it. So the surgeon uses the dissector to open planes, lift arachnoid or ease a structure aside. Its long reach keeps the hand out of the microscope view.
Seven options
At 23 cm, you can choose Figure 1, Figure 2 or Figure 3. The 23 cm length also comes in Left and Right versions. In addition, a 3.0 mm tip comes in 18 cm and 20 cm lengths.
Where it helps
Surgeons use this kind of tool in cranial microsurgery and in microdiscectomy. For example, a side-specific tip can reach around the dural sac on one side. Then the surgeon switches to the other hand for the opposite side.
Choosing between figures
Figure numbers identify different tip shapes, so each suits a slightly different task. Because shapes are hard to judge from a list, contact us for a tip photo or dimensions. We will then help you match the figure to your technique.
Caring for your micro dissector
Handle the fine tip gently, since a drop can bend it. After use, clean it with a soft brush or sponge and mild detergent. Dry it well, protect the tip, and sterilize it in a suitable tray.

Getting your dissector
The dissector includes our three-year warranty for defects in workmanship. We look over every order by hand in Atlanta, and then it ships. Our FAQs help with payment, tax and tracking. The steel specification for surgical instruments is ASTM F899. For a related spinal pattern, see the Caspar micro dissector. You can also browse the complete neurosurgical catalog.
Professional use only. Since the tips are small, photos can mislead, so the care guide explains this and the nickel in the steel. See our shipping details for delivery times.
