Masing Septum Periosteal Elevator

Description

Masing Septum Periosteal Elevator

During septoplasty, the Masing periosteal elevator separates the lining of the septum from the cartilage and bone beneath. Its curved form helps the tip follow the septal surface.

A curved working end

The septum rarely sits perfectly flat, especially when it deviates. Therefore a curve helps the tip stay in contact as it travels. It also lets the surgeon see past the handle.

Size: 20 cm

Our listing shows a curved elevator of 20 cm. That length reaches deep into the nasal cavity. So the surgeon can elevate far back toward the bony septum.

The elevation step

First, the surgeon makes an incision through the lining. Next, the elevator lifts a flap on one or both sides. Then the surgeon can reshape or remove the deviated part.

Choosing curved or straight elevators

Many surgeons prefer a curve for the main dissection. However, a straight elevator can help in the front part of the septum. Our range includes both, so you can build a balanced set.

Caring for your Masing periosteal elevator

Remove blood and tissue before it dries on the tip. Then clean with a soft brush and rinse fully. Also dry it well before sterilization.

Buying the curved Masing pattern

We include a three-year warranty on this 20 cm curved elevator for workmanship defects. Also, each curved elevator gets a careful hand inspection in Atlanta before we ship. Please visit our FAQ page for help with ordering questions. For elevator steel, many buyers cite ASTM F899. For bone work that follows, try the Masing nasal chisel. Finally, see our complete ENT category.
