Description
Martini Bone Curette
The Martini bone curette is a short, 13 cm instrument for fine scraping. Its compact size keeps the cup close to the fingers, which helps in small spaces.
Short for control
A short shank moves the tip only a little when the hand moves. Therefore the surgeon can place the cup very precisely. That suits work near joints and nerves.
The cup
The sharp cup scrapes on the pull stroke and gathers debris. So small cysts and pockets of soft tissue clear quickly. Also, the cup collects graft chips without crushing them.
Who uses the Martini bone curette
Hand and foot surgeons use it on small bones. Similarly, oral and facial surgeons use it in sockets and thin bone. It also helps in pediatric cases.
A tray companion
Pair it with a longer curette for deeper work. Then you have a short tool for precision and a long one for reach. Many small-bone trays carry exactly that pair.
When short beats long
Long curettes give leverage, yet they move a lot at the tip. By contrast, a 13 cm curette keeps every motion small. Consequently, it suits very fine work near joints.
