Description
Martin Wire Twisting Forceps
Martin wire twisting forceps grip and twist fixation wire with tungsten carbide jaws. Two lengths are offered, 15 cm or 18 cm.
A familiar pattern
The Martin pattern is common in wiring sets. Moreover, its jaws grip two wire ends together. Then a steady twist secures them.
Two lengths
The 15 cm version suits fine wire and hand work. Meanwhile, the 18 cm version gives more leverage for cerclage. Besides, both have carbide jaws.
Who uses Martin wire twisting forceps
Trauma surgeons use them in tension band and cerclage wiring. Also, maxillofacial teams use them for jaw wiring. Furthermore, hand surgeons use the shorter one.
Even twists
Keep light tension on the wire while twisting. Consequently, the twist forms neatly along the wire. Uneven twists can loosen.
Pairing
A wire cutter trims the excess after twisting. Therefore many sets carry both. Together they finish the job.
Fine or heavy wire
The 15 cm twister handles fine wire with control. By contrast, the 18 cm version gives leverage for thicker wire. Choose by the wire you use most.
