Description
Logan Retractor
The Logan retractor is a small self-retaining retractor, just 4 cm long. It has 3 x 3 sharp teeth.
Tiny size
At 4 cm, it fits the smallest surgical openings. So it suits fine work where larger tools would crowd the field. Also, it leaves room for other fine instruments nearby.
3 x 3 sharp teeth
Three sharp teeth on each side grip the skin edge and keep it from slipping. Therefore, it holds skin firmly despite its very small size. However, handle it with care, since the points are fine.
Common uses
Small self-retainers like this suit superficial wounds and fine procedures. In addition, they free the surgeon’s other hand during delicate steps. Then the assistant can focus on suction and cutting sutures.
Comparing small patterns
We also stock the Alm at 7 and 10 cm. By contrast, the Logan retractor is our smallest self-retaining pattern. So choose it when even the Alm feels too big. Also, its small size makes it easy to fit on a crowded mayo stand.
Cleaning Logan retractor
Use a fine brush between the six sharp teeth, working slowly to protect your fingers. Next, rinse and dry it, then check each point under magnification for dulling. Finally, keep it in a small parts box so the teeth stay protected.
