Lange-Wilde Nasal Snare

The Lange-Wilde nasal snare removes nasal polyps with a tightening wire loop. ENT surgeons slip the loop around the polyp and draw it closed to cut through the stalk.

How a snare works

A snare holds a loop of fine wire at its tip. When the user closes the loop, the wire cuts cleanly around the polyp base. Because of that, snares remain popular for pedunculated polyps.

Using it in a polypectomy

First, the surgeon loads wire and shapes the loop. Next, the loop goes over the polyp and slides up to its base. Then the surgeon closes the loop until the polyp comes free.

The snare needs a supply of wire, which we sell on 10 m rolls. So order a roll with your first Lange-Wilde. Also ask us if you need to confirm the right thickness.

Caring for the Lange-Wilde

Remove the used wire after each case and discard it. Then rinse and brush the snare, paying attention to the wire channel. Finally, dry the Lange-Wilde and sterilize it according to your protocol.
