Description
Kronecker Ligature Needle
The Kronecker ligature needle passes a ligature around small vessels near the surface. At only 13 cm, it is the shortest needle in our range, which gives very fine control.
Left or right curve
The tip turns either to the left or to the right. As a result, the surgeon can approach a vessel from the most convenient side without twisting the wrist awkwardly.
A short, precise needle
Short instruments let the fingers sense small changes in resistance. Therefore, the Kronecker ligature needle suits delicate work in the neck, face and limbs.
How a ligature needle differs from a conductor
Both carry thread behind a structure. However, a ligature needle usually has a tighter curve and an eye right at the tip, so it loops around small vessels in a smaller space.
Typical procedures
Thyroid, plastic and hand surgeons use short ligature needles. For instance, they help tie a small artery before it is divided.
Building a pair
Many surgeons stock both a left and a right version. Furthermore, that way, whichever side the vessel lies on, the curve matches the approach.

Small eye care
Flush the tiny eye with a syringe of water straight after use. Dry the needle and store left and right versions together.
Buying notes
Before it leaves us, our Atlanta inspector reviews every needle closely. Left-hand or right-hand, the Kronecker needle has three years against manufacturing defects. Also consider the Kocher ligature needle. Check our growing general surgery department for other patterns. For more on surgical alloys, visit ASTM F899. Many clinics order a backup needle for back-to-back cases. For delivery questions, visit the customer FAQ.
