Krause-Voss Nasal Snare

The Krause-Voss nasal snare removes polyps from the nose with a wire loop. The surgeon places the loop around a polyp and closes it until the stalk is cut.

A longer snare

At 25 cm, the Krause-Voss gives plenty of reach for polyps further back in the nose. Meanwhile, its curve helps keep the view open. Those two features suit it to deeper polyp work.

One configuration

We sell the Krause-Voss curved, at an overall length of 25 cm. It uses standard snare wire, which we sell separately. Ask us if you need the tip details before you order.

In the procedure

The surgeon first shapes a loop from fresh wire. Then the loop passes over the polyp and settles at its base. Next, closing the loop cuts through, and forceps lift out the polyp.

Krause-Voss or Krause

Both snares come in a 25 cm curved form. Therefore the choice usually comes down to the surgeon’s training and preference. We can send photos of both so that you can compare them. Also, the two share the same wire, so switching costs little.

Caring for the Krause-Voss

Take out and discard the used wire straight after the case. Next, rinse and brush the snare body and wire channel. Then dry the Krause-Voss fully before sterilization.
