Description
Kirschner Retractor
The Kirschner retractor is a self-retaining abdominal frame retractor. You can order it as a complete set or as the 240 x 240 mm frame only.
How the frame works
The frame sits around the incision and holds blades in place without an assistant. So the abdominal wall stays open for the whole case. Also, the team can change blade positions as the case moves on.
Complete set or frame only
The complete set gives you a working retractor in one order. By contrast, the frame-only option suits teams that already own blades. In that case, you pay only for the 240 x 240 mm frame.
Blade sizes
Blades for this system range from 40 x 45 mm to 80 x 90 mm. However, they come as separate items. Then you can build the mix of blade sizes your cases need.
Frame size
The 240 x 240 mm frame gives a square working area around the wound. If you need a larger frame, compare it with the Franz model. Plus, we can help you decide which Kirschner retractor setup fits your OR.
Reprocessing Kirschner retractor
Take the blades off the frame before you clean anything. Then wash the frame joints and each blade on its own. Finally, dry the parts and store blades in a rack so edges stay clean.
