The Franz retractor gives you a large, self-retaining abdominal frame measuring 300 x 300 mm. Choose the complete set with eight blades or the frame only.

A large frame

At 300 x 300 mm, the frame gives plenty of room around a long incision. So it suits large open abdominal cases where the team needs wide, stable access. Also, the frame holds retraction without tiring an assistant.

Eight blades or none

The complete set includes eight blades for a full setup. Alternatively, the frame-only option suits teams who already own blades. That way, you avoid buying parts twice.

A four-blade option

We also list a four-blade Franz set as a separate product. However, the eight-blade version gives more choice at the table. Then you can place blades on every side of the wound.

Setting up

First, position the frame over the incision. Next, place the blades where the surgeon needs pull. Finally, fix each blade so the Franz retractor holds the wound on its own.

Cleaning Franz retractor

Remove all blades and lay them out on a clean towel before cleaning. Then brush the frame corners, where fluid tends to collect. Plus, count the blades back into the tray so none go missing.
