Description
Kelly Retractor Blade
This Kelly retractor blade is a component, not a complete retractor. It attaches to a self-retaining frame system and comes as a blade only.
Four depths
Choose 3, 4, 5 or 6 inches, which equals 8, 10, 13 or 15 cm. So a thin patient takes a short blade and a deep cavity takes a long one. Also, many teams stock two depths per frame.
What you receive
You get the blade alone, with no frame, post or clamp. Therefore check that your system accepts a Kelly-type blade first. If you are unsure, send us your frame details.
Why buy blades separately
Blades wear, bend or go missing faster than frames. Then a single spare keeps a full set ready for the next case. Plus, extra depths let one frame handle more procedures.
Fitting the blade
Seat the Kelly retractor blade on the frame before the frame goes under tension. Next, set the depth so the tip clears the organ you want to hold. That way you avoid adjusting under load.
Cleaning Kelly retractor blade
Remove the blade from the frame before cleaning so no soil hides at the join. Then wash the blade face and the attachment end separately. Finally, dry it and keep it with its matching frame.
