Description
Kalt Micro Needle Holder
The Kalt needle holder brings a ring handle and lock to ophthalmic suturing. At 14 cm, it sits comfortably in the hand for eye procedures.
Ring handles and lock
Rings give a familiar feel for surgeons who trained on general holders. Also, the lock on a Kalt needle holder keeps the needle steady while you reposition. Then a light squeeze frees the needle again.
Stainless or tungsten carbide
Plain stainless jaws suit standard suturing at a lower cost. Alternatively, the carbide version adds mini profile inserts for finer sutures. So you can match the jaw to the suture size you use most.
Small working end
The jaws stay small next to a general holder. As a result, you can pick up little needles without crowding the wound. Also, the short length keeps control close to the tip.
Where it fits
Many eye sets carry one Kalt needle holder for the sturdier ophthalmic needles. Meanwhile, spring-handle holders take on the finest work. So this pattern fills the gap between general and micro instruments.
Reprocessing Kalt needle holder
Open the lock before you rinse the holder. Then clean the ratchet teeth and joint with a soft brush. Also, dry the instrument fully to keep the lock working smoothly.
