Kallmorgen Vaginal Speculum and Retractor

The Kallmorgen vaginal speculum pairs with a matching retractor to open the vaginal canal from two sides. Each piece comes in Fig 1 (70 mm) or Fig 2 (90 mm).

Speculum sizes

The speculum blade measures 70×40 mm in Fig 1. By contrast, Fig 2 extends it to 90×40 mm while keeping the same width. So choose Fig 2 for a deeper field.

Retractor sizes

The retractor blade stays slimmer at 33 mm wide. Then Fig 1 gives 70 mm of length and Fig 2 gives 90 mm. Also, the narrower retractor leaves room for instruments beside it.

Single pieces or a set

You can order either piece alone or buy the matched set. Because the set pairs figures correctly, it saves checking sizes. However, singles work well when only one piece needs replacing.

Choose a Fig 1 Kallmorgen vaginal speculum for shorter vaginal depth. Instead, Fig 2 suits a longer canal or deeper work. In addition, some trays carry both figures for flexibility.

Reprocessing Kallmorgen vaginal speculum

Wash the speculum and retractor separately, then check both blade tips for burrs. Next, rinse each piece in clean water to remove detergent. Finally, dry the pair and keep them together in the same tray slot.
