Description
Johns Hopkins Dissecting and Ligature Forceps
Johns Hopkins forceps are a 20 cm dissecting and ligature clamp. They suit deep work where you need both reach and a secure hold.
Built for reach
At 20 cm, the forceps reach deep wounds. Also, the long handle keeps your fingers away from the view.
Dissect, then ligate
You can spread tissue with the tips first. Then the same instrument holds a tie as you pass it around a vessel.
A single size
We list one 20 cm size. So if you need a longer pattern, ask us about alternatives.
Using the tips well
Open the jaws in short, gentle strokes to find a plane. Because long jaws magnify small hand movements, work slowly near vessels. Next, close the ratchet only when you have the tie or pedicle in view. That way you avoid catching tissue you did not intend to clamp.
Cleaning Johns Hopkins forceps
Brush the jaws and box joint after each case. Then rinse, dry fully and store the forceps unlocked.
