Description
Herz Tendon Seizing Forceps
Herz tendon seizing forceps grip tendons securely during repair and transfer. You can choose fine or coarse serrations on the 15 cm body.
Fine or coarse
Fine serrations grip delicate tendons with less surface damage. Meanwhile, coarse serrations hold thick or slippery tendons more firmly. Choose based on the tendons you treat most.
Holding for suturing
Tendon repair needs a steady grip while sutures pass. Therefore these forceps hold the tendon end in place. The surgeon can then place stitches accurately.
Who uses Herz tendon seizing forceps
Hand surgeons use them in flexor and extensor repair. Also, orthopedic surgeons use them in tendon transfers. Foot surgeons find them helpful for toe tendons.
Protecting the tendon
Grip only the part of the tendon that will be trimmed or buried. Consequently, the gliding surface stays smooth. That improves later movement.
Which serration first
If unsure, start with the fine version for hand work. However, choose coarse serrations for larger tendons in the leg. Some teams keep both.
