Description
Heaney Hysterectomy and Vaginal Forceps
Heaney hysterectomy forceps clamp pedicles during vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy. You can choose from two jaw figures and three lengths.
The classic pedicle clamp
The Heaney pattern has long served vaginal hysterectomy, where it grips each pedicle before ligation. Also, surgeons use it in abdominal cases for the same step. So one clamp style travels between both approaches.
Fig 1 or Fig 2
The two figures offer different jaw shapes. Therefore a team can match the jaw to the pedicle and the surgeon’s habit. Plus, some trays carry one of each figure.
19.5, 21 or 23 cm
The 19.5 cm size works close to the vaginal vault. Meanwhile, the 21 cm size makes a common middle choice. Then the 23 cm Heaney hysterectomy forceps add reach for abdominal work.
Pairing figures and lengths
List the figure and length together on your order, such as Fig 1 at 21 cm. That way the set matches the preference card. Also, ask us if you need a quote for several pairs.
Reprocessing Heaney hysterectomy forceps
Check the jaws for tissue in the grooves right after use. Then run the clamp through an ultrasonic cleaner with the jaws open. Next, lubricate the joint with instrument milk before steam sterilization.
