Description
Hartmann-Wullstein Ear Polypus Forceps
Hartmann-Wullstein ear polypus forceps are fine otology forceps for grasping tissue under magnification. Surgeons use them for polyps, granulation tissue and small pieces of debris in the ear.
A fine grasping tool
Ear surgery often happens through a speculum and a microscope. So the forceps must be small enough to pass through that narrow opening. They must also hold tissue firmly without tearing it.
Two jaw options
You can order a standard jaw or a 1 mm jaw. The 1 mm jaw suits very small tissue and tight spaces. The standard jaw, by contrast, takes a bigger bite. Our catalogue gives the length as about 8.5 cm.
In otology procedures
Surgeons remove polyps and granulation tissue before they can see the eardrum. For instance, a team may use these forceps during tympanoplasty or a chronic ear clean-up. They also serve for handling small grafts and packing.
Which jaw suits you
If you do a lot of microscope work, the 1 mm jaw may become your everyday choice. On the other hand, general ENT clinics often prefer the standard jaw. Ordering one of each covers both needs.
Caring for your Hartmann-Wullstein ear polypus forceps
Clean the jaws with care because fine tips can bend. Rinse them, brush the joint gently and dry them completely. Then place them in a protective tray for sterilization.
