Description
Hank Uterine Dilator
The Hank uterine dilator is a double-ended cervical dilator sized on the American scale. We offer six sizes, from Fig 9/10 up to Fig 19/20.
Six sizes
The range starts at Fig 9/10, which equals 4.5/5.0 mm. It finishes at Fig 19/20, or 9.5/10.0 mm. So the series covers the smaller end of cervical dilation.
Why double-ended
Two sizes on one piece means fewer instruments on the tray. Then, when the first end passes easily, the surgeon flips to the next size. Also, fewer pieces make counting quicker at the end of the case.
American versus French scale
The American scale gives a different Fig number from the French scale for the same width. Therefore, compare millimeter sizes when you mix Hank pieces with Pratt pieces. That way, each step up stays even.
One size or six
Order a single Hank uterine dilator to replace a worn or missing size. Alternatively, the six-piece collection arrives in a canvas case. Meanwhile, singles let you keep spares of the sizes you use most.
Reprocessing Hank uterine dilator
Rinse the dilator soon after the procedure, before residue hardens. Next, clean it with a neutral detergent and a soft cloth, then rinse again. Finally, dry both ends well and store it where it cannot roll off a shelf.
