Description
Green Hooklets
Green hooklets are small eye hooks that let you lift and hold tissue with care. The Green name is well known in strabismus work, where a hook slides under a muscle. We offer this pattern as a single item.
The Green pattern in muscle work
A Green hook gives you a smooth curve to pass under a muscle. Then you can lift it, check it and hold it while you place sutures. Because the curve is smooth, it does not tear tissue when used with light pressure.
Small Green hooks versus larger ones
A hooklet is a smaller hook. So it suits fine steps where a larger hook would feel clumsy. For example, you might use a larger hook to find the muscle, then a small hook to adjust your hold. So the two often work as a pair, and the Green hooklet earns its spot for the fine part of the job.
Green hooklet tips
- Hold the handle like a pencil.
- Sweep under tissue rather than stabbing.
- Lift with a gentle, even pull.
- Check the curve for bends after each case.
Cleaning small hooks
The Green curve can trap a thread of tissue. So hold each hooklet under cool water as soon as the muscle work ends, then sweep a small brush along the bend. Then a short ultrasonic run clears what the brush misses. Dry them on a lint-free towel. Our Green hooklets reach you non-sterile, so they need a full autoclave cycle before the first case; they are then reusable.
Green hooklet warranty
Green hooklets come with three years against manufacturing defects; Green items with a flaw in build are covered. The steel follows ASTM F899. See our muscle hook and eye tool range, or the Jameson hooklets with a knob tip. In addition, our frequently asked questions page helps with orders.
