Description
Fischer-Arlt Conjunctival Forceps, 1×2 Teeth
The Fischer-Arlt conjunctival forceps is a compact 7cm tool with a 1×2 tooth bite. It suits close work on the eye surface. Because it is short, you can keep your hand low and your moves small.
The case for a short pattern
A 7cm forceps sits almost inside the palm. That cuts down the lever between your fingers and the tip. As a result, small slips at the hand show up less at the tissue.
What 1×2 teeth add
The single tooth on one side drops between two on the other. So the jaws pinch only a small point of tissue. This holds conjunctiva well without crushing a wide band.
Choosing among Fischer patterns
We also list a plain Fischer forceps in the same 7cm size with 1×2 teeth. Both suit the same kind of work. Therefore, the right choice often comes down to which handle feels best in your hand.
Before you use it
- Look at the tips under a loupe
- Check that the teeth meet cleanly
- Test the spring for even return
- Wipe off any lint from packing
Washing and storing the Fischer-Arlt
Rinse the forceps soon after use. Then use a soft brush on the teeth. Store it in a tray slot, since short tools can roll and knock their tips.
Expect it to arrive non-sterile. After proper cleaning and sterilization, it goes straight back on the tray. Its compact frame uses stainless that meets ASTM F899, the common benchmark for surgical steel. We also stand behind the Fischer-Arlt for three years against manufacturing defects; Fischer-Arlt faults in the making get repaired or replaced. Take a look at our ophthalmic instrument list, the Fischer forceps in the same size, or the FAQ section.
Fischer-Arlt forceps are sold for professional use. See how to clean and sterilize it and the Fischer-Arlt delivery terms.
