Description
Fischer Conjunctival Forceps, 1×2 Teeth
The Fischer conjunctival forceps is a small 7cm forceps with a 1×2 tooth bite. It gives a secure pinch on thin tissue. In addition, its size makes it easy to use near the lid margin and in tight spaces.
A compact tool for small fields
When the field is small, a long tool can get in the way. This short pattern keeps the handle out of your line of sight. So it works well for brief surface steps and minor cases. It is also handy for removing sutures at a follow-up visit.
How the teeth bite
Two teeth on one jaw frame a single tooth on the other. When you close the jaws, they trap a tiny fold. That fold stays put while you cut or stitch beside it. Because the bite is small, the mark it leaves on the tissue is small too.
Fischer versus Fischer-Arlt
Both are 7cm with 1×2 teeth. Still, many users find small differences in the feel of the handle. If you already like one, the other makes a good spare for a second tray.
Signs it needs a check
- Tips no longer meet at the same point
- One tooth looks bent or dull
- The spring feels weak or uneven
- Rust spots after a cycle
Simple Fischer upkeep
First, rinse the forceps in water soon after the case. Next, clean the teeth with a soft brush. Then dry it and run it through your usual sterilization cycle.
This forceps ships non-sterile and stays reusable after cleaning and sterilization. Our Fischer pattern relies on stainless that matches ASTM F899 for surgical grade use. Any problem tied to the build falls under a Fischer warranty of three years against manufacturing defects, counted from purchase.
