Description
Eufrate-Pasque Needle Holder, Tungsten Carbide
The Eufrate-Pasque needle holder has smooth tungsten carbide jaws. It suits delicate micro-sutures that a serrated or toothed jaw could fray or damage.
Smooth jaws
No serration runs across the carbide faces at all. So the jaws never bite into fine thread. Also, the flat face suits monofilament that marks easily.
Carbide hardness
The Eufrate-Pasque needle holder still grips the needle firmly despite the flat surface. Plus, the inserts wear far more slowly than plain steel. So the smooth faces stay true through many cycles.
Sizes from 14 to 23 cm
The two shortest sizes suit superficial micro work. Meanwhile, the 18 to 23 cm sizes reach deeper fields. Then pick the length by the depth of your work.
Choosing a profile
Pick the Eufrate-Pasque needle holder when thread protection matters most, as with fine monofilament. However, a micro profile holder grips small needles more firmly. Many surgeons keep one of each on a micro set, then choose by suture.
Reprocessing Eufrate-Pasque needle holder
Avoid clamping heavy needles, which can mark or dent smooth carbide jaws. Next, rinse and wipe the inserts after each use with a soft, damp cloth. Then wipe it dry and place it in a padded tray with the tips apart.
