Our Eppendorf biopsy tip is a spare shaft and jaw unit, sold on its own as a component. It mounts on the separate handle of our interchangeable cervical biopsy forceps system.

Part of a system

On its own, this 25 cm shaft cannot take a sample. Instead, it pairs with the handle-only listing to form a full punch forceps. Also, the same handle accepts the other tip-only shafts in the range.

Eppendorf punch jaws

Eppendorf jaws take a punch sample from the cervix. So clinicians reach for them during colposcopy when a lesion needs histology. Then the sample goes into fixative for the lab.

Spare parts save money

A worn tip does not mean replacing the whole instrument. Because the handle stays in service, you only swap the part that wears. Likewise, a spare Eppendorf biopsy tip keeps the clinic running during reprocessing.

Checking the jaws

Before each clinic, close the jaws of the Eppendorf biopsy tip and hold them to the light. However, if you see a gap along the edges, set the tip aside. Next, order a replacement so the list can continue.

Reprocessing Eppendorf biopsy tip

Separate shaft and handle, then rinse the jaws under running water. Also, use a small brush to clear the jaws of tissue. Dry both parts completely and store them together so neither goes missing.
