Description
Endo Dissectors Transoral
The transoral endoscopic dissector reaches the midface from an incision inside the mouth. That approach leaves no visible scar on the face.
Why go through the mouth
An oral incision gives direct access to the cheek and maxilla. Moreover, healing is quick and hidden. Consequently, many surgeons combine it with a temporal approach.
Handle options of the transoral endoscopic dissector
Choose an ergonomic or standard handle. Besides, both share the 23 cm shaft. So pick the grip that feels best.
Typical use
It supports midface lifts and cheek implant placement. It also helps release tissue over the maxilla. Usually it works alongside a midface dissector.
Technique
First, enter through the upper buccal sulcus. Keep the tip on bone as you advance. Then sweep gently to free the soft tissue.
Hygiene note
The oral route carries more bacteria. Therefore, follow strict prep and antibiotic protocols. Clean the tool promptly after use.
Before you start
Check that the tip is smooth and free of burrs. Also, confirm the handle style matches the rest of the tray. During the case, keep the tip on bone so the plane stays clean.
