Endo Dissectors Scalp Elevators With Suction
The suction scalp elevator lifts the scalp and clears fluid in the same pass. In addition, a channel inside the shaft draws blood away from the tip.
Why add suction
Bleeding blurs the endoscopic view. Here, suction works right at the blade. Consequently, the surgeon keeps a clear image without switching tools.
Two blade widths of the suction scalp elevator
You can order 7 mm or 8.5 mm. Furthermore, the narrow blade suits tight areas near the brow. Meanwhile, 8.5 mm covers more of the forehead.
Where it fits
Mainly, it supports endoscopic brow and forehead lifts. Some teams also use it during scalp flap elevation. Also, it connects to standard theatre suction tubing.
Connecting suction
Attach theatre tubing to the port at the handle end. Next, set a low vacuum so soft tissue is not drawn into the channel. During the sweep, cover and uncover the vent to control the pull.
