Description
Endo Dissectors Orbital Rim
The orbital rim dissector frees tissue along the bony rim of the eye socket. It works through a port in the scalp under endoscopic view.
Why the rim matters
Brow position depends on release at the rim. Indeed, if attachments remain, the brow will not lift. Therefore, this step is key in endoscopic brow surgery.
Handle choice on the orbital rim dissector
An ergonomic or a standard handle is available. In addition, the 23 cm shaft is identical. So pick whichever matches your set.
Typical use
Brow lifts and upper face rejuvenation call for it. It also helps in some orbital access cases. Moreover, many surgeons use it after the arcus marginalis step.
Technique
Approach the rim from above, keeping the tip on bone. Then sweep along the rim in short strokes. Protect the supraorbital nerve as you go.
Set companions
Pair it with the arcus marginalis and frontoglabellar dissectors. Together they complete the upper face release.
