The endoscopic nerve protector shields a nerve while the surgeon works nearby. It sits between the nerve and the cutting instrument, so the nerve stays out of harm’s way.

Protection in a narrow field

Endoscopic procedures give the surgeon a small view and little room. Therefore, a protector helps keep the nerve covered while other tools cut or dissect. It also holds the nerve steady during the key steps.

Three versions

We list three versions. The straight protector measures 4.7 mm at 19.5 cm. The left version measures 4.7 mm at 17.5 cm, while the right version measures 4.5 mm at 17 cm.

Straight, left or right

The straight protector suits a direct line to the nerve. In contrast, the left and right versions help when the nerve lies off to one side. Many surgeons keep all three, so they can match the approach.

Working with the cutting dissector

This endoscopic nerve protector pairs naturally with the cutting dissector. For example, the protector covers the nerve and the cutting tool works above it. Then the surgeon removes both once the release is complete.

Caring for your nerve protector

Clean the protector soon after use with a soft, long brush. Next, rinse it and dry both the shaft and working end. Check it for bends, because a straight shaft keeps the fit through the portal.
