The Dupuy Weiss tonsil dissector helps a surgeon separate the tonsil from its bed. It comes in right and left versions, one for each tonsil.

Why a sided dissector

The right and left tonsils face opposite directions. Therefore, a sided dissector can meet each tonsil at a natural angle. As a result, the surgeon may find the capsule plane easier to follow.

Right or left

We list two options: Right and Left. Many surgeons order the pair, because most tonsillectomies involve both sides. You can also buy one side as a spare.

During the procedure

After the first incision, the surgeon slides the Dupuy Weiss tonsil dissector into the plane around the capsule. Meanwhile, seizing forceps keep traction on the tonsil. Then a snare or knife completes the removal.
