Duplay Polypus and Dressing Forceps

The Duplay dressing forceps doubles as a polypus forceps in gynecology. It measures 20.5 cm and comes straight or curved.

Two roles

As a dressing instrument, it carries swabs, cotton balls and gauze into the vagina and up to the cervix. Likewise, as a polypus forceps, it grasps cervical or uterine polyps for removal. So one instrument covers two routine tasks.

Straight or curved

The straight version gives a direct line to the cervix. Alternatively, the curved version helps reach around the speculum blade. Therefore, many clinics stock both versions side by side in the same drawer.

20.5 cm length

This length reaches the cervix comfortably through a speculum. Also, your fingers stay clear of the view while you work at the cervix. Meanwhile, shorter and longer polypus forceps suit other depths.

Office and theater use

Gynecology clinics use the Duplay dressing forceps for swabbing during exams. In addition, theater teams use it to place gauze packs. Then, when a polyp appears during the exam, the same instrument can grasp and remove it.

Cleaning Duplay dressing forceps

Open the jaws wide and flush them after each use. Next, brush inside the jaws where tissue and lint can catch. Finally, let it dry fully, then close the jaws gently to protect the tips in storage.
