Description
Doyen Towel Forceps
The Doyen towel forceps secure drapes, towels and cables around the operating field. Two sizes, 11 cm and 18 cm, cover small procedures as well as large fields.
Two sizes
The 11 cm size suits minor surgery and light drapes. Meanwhile, the 18 cm size grips heavy drapes in major cases.
Uses of the Doyen towel forceps
Teams fix drape corners with them and anchor suction tubing and diathermy leads. As a result, cables stay where the surgeon wants them.
Placing the forceps
Gather the layers into a fold and close the forceps until locked. Then give the drape a gentle tug to confirm it holds.
Skin safety
Check that no skin lies under the tips before closing. Sharp tips can leave small marks otherwise.
Named after Doyen
Eugène-Louis Doyen designed many general surgical instruments. Today, the towel forceps carrying the Doyen name still appear on trays worldwide.
Stocking both sizes
Many hospitals keep both sizes on hand. In that way, minor and major trays each get the size that suits them.

Doyen care
Scrub the tips with a nylon brush and flush the joint. After drying, fit covers and sterilise.
The promise on the forceps
Both Doyen sizes carry three years against manufacturing defects. Any forceps undergoes a visual review at our Atlanta site before it ships. To learn about instrument metals, look up ASTM F899. Further options wait in our general surgery line. Our customer FAQ explains delivery and returns. We gladly check sizes by email. For a sister pattern, see our Lane forceps. A second forceps on standby keeps lists moving.
