Description
Desjardins Gall Stone Forceps
The Desjardins gall stone forceps reach down the common bile duct to seize stones. Four figures offer different curves, so the jaws can follow the duct from the opening to the stone.
Four figures
We offer figures 1, 2, 3 and 4. Besides, each has its own curve. As a result, the surgeon can choose the shape that matches the duct.
Why the Desjardins gall stone forceps
Long, slim jaws pass easily down the duct. Meanwhile, the curve keeps the tips aligned with the duct wall. Additionally, that helps reach stones without damage.
Typical procedures
Duct exploration through an open choledochotomy is their main job. Typically, they pull stones from the lower duct. They also retrieve stones from the hepatic ducts.
Choosing a figure
Gentle curves suit a straight duct. By contrast, sharper curves reach stones behind a bend. Moreover, many trays carry two or more figures.
Pairing
The Desjardins scoop and probe belong to the same family. Together they find, lift and confirm removal of stones. Furthermore, a matched set feels familiar in the hand.

Shipping essentials
Our Atlanta team studies every forceps closely before the courier comes. All four Desjardins figures share three years against manufacturing defects. Pick any curve. Many surgical teams stock a backup forceps so a case never waits. For order basics, consult the help page. Compare it with the Desjardins scoop. More pieces appear in the general surgical collection. To read about surgical alloys, consult ASTM F899.
