Description
DeBakey Atrauma Cardiovascular Ligature Clamp
The DeBakey ligature clamp helps surgeons place and hold ligatures deep in the operative field. It comes in 24, 25 and 26 cm lengths.
Three long lengths
All three sizes give generous reach. So they suit deep thoracic and abdominal work where fingers cannot follow. Meanwhile, each size adds a single centimeter over the last.
Material choice
Stainless steel suits most sets and matches existing instruments. Alternatively, tungsten carbide gives a harder option for teams who want it. Both versions share the same purpose and length range.
Ligature work
Surgeons use it to carry a tie around a vessel or to hold one in place. As a result, they can tie securely in tight, deep spaces. Its atraumatic jaws also protect the vessel they touch.
Deep-field use
Long clamps help most where the hand cannot reach. In that case, the 26 cm DeBakey ligature clamp gives extra working room. Plus, the 24 cm size stays a little easier to maneuver.
Reprocessing DeBakey ligature clamp
Clear the jaws with a moist gauze whenever tissue builds up during the case. Afterward, run the clamp through the washer with its jaws parted. Because of its length, store it in a slot where the tips cannot catch.
