Description
De La Roza Ligature Needle
The De La Roza ligature needle comes as a mirrored pair: curved to the left or curved to the right. Both versions measure 12.0 cm. Each has an eyed tip, so you can carry a suture around tissue and draw it back.
Left or Right Curve
The choice depends on the side you approach from. For example, a right curve lets a right-handed surgeon sweep naturally on one side. Then the left curve covers the opposite side without awkward wrist turns. Many buyers order both.
A Compact 12 cm Body
At 12.0 cm, this needle is shorter than many ligature patterns. So it suits close work, where a long handle would feel clumsy. It also sits lightly in the hand during fine passes.
Passing the Thread
First, thread the eye with your chosen suture. Next, rotate the curve around the structure. Then grasp the free end beyond the tissue and slide the needle back out.

- Eyed tip for the ligature
- Handle for a sure, steady grip
Keeping Pairs Together
Because the two versions look alike at a glance, mark or rack them apart. Also note which side each tray needs. That way the right curve reaches the surgeon at the right time.
Cleaning a Small Eye
Flush the eye under running water straight after use. After that, brush it with a fine wire and dry it well. Finally, check the tip for bends before you pack the set.
These needles ship non-sterile, ready to reuse after cleaning and sterilization by your team. We specify stainless steel to ASTM F899 and check finished parts in the United States. Left or right, each De La Roza piece has three years against manufacturing defects covered by us. For a single longer pattern, see the 14 cm Jacobi needle.
