Description
Cushing-Taylor Dissecting Forceps, Tungsten Carbide
Cushing-Taylor forceps combine a slim Cushing tip with a long, light body. This version has tungsten carbide inserts at 18 cm.
A slim working end
The narrow tip passes into small openings. So the forceps suit neurosurgery and other deep work.
Carbide grip
The carbide inserts hold tissue firmly. Also, they resist wear far better than plain steel.
Balanced length
At 18 cm, the instrument reaches deep fields. Meanwhile, the hand stays well clear of the opening.
Where they help
Surgeons reach for Cushing-Taylor forceps when a field is deep and narrow. Then the slim tip keeps the view open around the instrument. Because the inserts last, one pair serves for years. In addition, the carbide inserts mean the tips keep holding dura and small vessels firmly over many cycles. Meanwhile, the long body balances well in the hand. So the Cushing-Taylor forceps suit neurosurgical and spinal trays. Also, this carbide pattern pairs naturally with bayonet instruments on a spinal or cranial set, where every millimetre of view counts. Meanwhile, its gold handle rings flag it as carbide at a glance.
Care of Cushing-Taylor forceps
Rinse the slim Cushing-Taylor tips before debris sets. Next, dry the forceps fully, including the inner arms. Then rack them so the long body stays straight.
