Converse Chisel

The Converse chisel is an 18 cm straight chisel for nasal bone. Driven by mallet taps, it slices bone and cartilage during rhinoplasty or septal repair.

How a nasal chisel works

A chisel has a single bevelled edge. So when the surgeon taps it with a mallet, it cuts along a controlled line. That makes it useful for removing bone in thin, even slices.

Size and shape

We offer this chisel at 18 cm in a straight shape. The straight form transfers each mallet tap directly to the edge. For blade width, please contact us and we will check.

Typical uses

For example, a surgeon might take down a small hump with it. Also, it can trim bone at the base of the septum. In each case, the chisel works together with rasps that smooth the result.

Chisels come in many widths and lengths. First, check which widths your current set lacks. Next, consider whether you need a straight or curved blade for the step in question.

Caring for your Converse chisel

Protect the cutting edge during cleaning, drying and storage. Rinse off debris right after use, then wash the blade gently by hand. Once it is dry, sterilize it with an edge guard fitted.
