Description
Coakley Sinus Curette
The Coakley sinus curette removes diseased tissue from inside the sinuses. ENT surgeons use it in the frontal and maxillary sinuses, where a curved tip reaches around corners.
A curved working end
The curette bends toward the tip. Therefore the surgeon can reach the walls of a sinus cavity. The cup then scrapes away mucosa, polyps or debris. That shape also helps when the opening sits at an awkward angle.
Six figures
We offer figures 1 through 6, giving six options. All of them measure 17 cm and share the curved shape. Contact us if you need the tip size of each figure, and we will send it.
In sinus surgery
Surgeons often use curettes after opening a sinus with forceps or punches. For instance, a curette clears the floor of a sinus. Then irrigation washes out the loose material.
Choosing figures
Many surgeons keep a few figures on the tray. First, choose the figures that match your common approaches. Next, add one or two for less common angles. That way the set stays compact but flexible.
Caring for your Coakley sinus curette
Rinse the curette right after surgery. Then brush inside the cup to remove tissue. Finally, dry it and sterilize it with the tip protected.
