Buck Curette

The Buck curette is a well-known ear curette with a small ring tip on a long shank. Clinicians use it to remove cerumen and debris from the external ear canal.

The ring tip

The tip forms a small open ring. It engages wax from behind and then draws it outward. Therefore, a firm plug can come out in one or two passes rather than in crumbs.

Fourteen combinations

Each curette measures 16.5 cm. You pick a tip of 0.75, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2.25, 2.75 or 3 mm. Next, you choose a straight or curved shape. That gives 14 options in total.

Caring for your Buck curette

Wipe the ring right after use. Then soak the shank in an enzymatic cleaner. Brush the tip gently, because thin rings can bend. Dry it completely before you pouch and sterilize it.
