Brunner Sternum Scissors
Brunner sternum scissors cut through the sternum to open the chest for cardiac and thoracic access. They measure 32 cm, which gives strong leverage for a heavy cut.
Right or left hand
We offer a right-hand and a left-hand version. So each surgeon can work with the dominant hand. Also, a mixed team may keep one of each in the tray.
Long leverage
At 32 cm, the length multiplies the force that reaches the blades. As a result, the cut takes less effort from the surgeon. That length also keeps hands clear of the incision.
Where they fit
Many surgeons now open the sternum with a power saw. However, a manual option still earns its place for backup and some cases. So a pair on the shelf covers the moment a saw fails.
