Boucheron Ear Speculum

The Boucheron ear speculum is a metal ear funnel for examination and minor ear procedures. Clinicians insert it into the canal to see the eardrum clearly and also to pass small instruments.

Why a metal speculum

Disposable plastic tips suit quick checks. A metal speculum, however, stands up to repeated sterilization and gives a firm channel for instruments. Therefore, ENT clinics often keep metal specula for treatment work.

Sizes and set

You can buy single specula in 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 or 6.5 mm. Otherwise, choose the set of all four sizes. That gives five options in total. In addition, the set saves you ordering sizes one by one.

Typical clinical use

Doctors use the speculum for otoscopy under a headlight or microscope. For example, they may remove wax, take a swab or treat the canal through it. The range of sizes also lets them match adults and children.

Set or single sizes

If you are starting a new ear tray, the four-piece set is the simple choice. On the other hand, if one size wears out or goes missing, order just that size. Either way, we are glad to advise you.

Caring for your Boucheron ear speculum

Clean each speculum soon after use. Next, rinse and dry the inside of the funnel carefully. Finally, sterilize the specula in a tray so they do not knock together.
