Description
Abdominal Retractor Blade Only
This abdominal retractor blade fits Collin-type self-retaining abdominal retractors. It comes as a blade only, so it needs a Collin-type frame to work.
Ten sizes
Sizes run from a small 18 x 40 mm blade up to a large 80 x 90 mm one. So one frame type can cover shallow and deep abdomens. Also, the full range lets you swap depth mid-case.
Collin-type frames
Collin-type retractors hold the wound open on their own once set. Meanwhile, the blade does the actual work against the tissue. Therefore, a worn or missing blade can take the whole frame out of use.
Choosing depth
Pick a blade that reaches just past the layer you need to hold. However, a blade that runs too deep can crowd the field. So many teams keep two or three sizes to hand.
Blade only
This listing does not include a frame. Instead, it replaces or adds to the blades in your existing set. Plus, you can order several sizes of this abdominal retractor blade at once.
Reprocessing abdominal retractor blade
Unhook this part from its Collin frame once the case ends. Then clean the fitting end that joins it to the frame, since debris gathers there. Also, store blades by size so the right one turns up fast.
