Beyer Bone Rongeur Forceps

Description

Beyer Bone Rongeur Forceps

The Beyer bone rongeur is an 18 cm instrument with a fine bite. Two bite widths let you match the bone and the pace you want.

One length, two bites

Both versions share the same 18 cm body. Therefore the only choice is the width of the bite. That keeps the decision simple.

What the bite width changes

A 3 mm bite removes more bone per squeeze, so work moves faster. By contrast, a 2 mm bite lets you stop short of delicate structures. Moreover, many surgeons keep both.

Who uses the Beyer bone rongeur

Oral surgeons contour alveolar bone after extraction. Also, ENT teams trim thin bone near the sinuses. Fine orthopedic tasks in the hand suit it too.

Fine technique

Take small, steady bites. Then check the edge by feel and sight. Switch to the narrower bite near anything you must protect.

A versatile fine rongeur

Because the Beyer pattern travels between specialties, it often sits on shared trays. Consequently, a pair of bite widths serves several teams. That makes it a sensible stock item.

Beyer care

Clear bone from the small cups with a fine pick or brush. Rinse, dry and lubricate. Then check that the spring opens the jaws fully.
