Description
Bohler Bone Rongeur Forceps
The Bohler bone rongeur is a fine instrument with a narrow bite. It shapes bone slowly and precisely near joints and fracture lines.
A narrow bite on purpose
Narrow jaws remove little bone at a time. Therefore the surgeon can stop exactly where needed. That matters near an articular surface or a nerve.
Options
Order the 2 mm or the 3 mm version. Each is available with straight jaws or curved jaws. The 2 mm bite shapes most finely, while the 3 mm bite works a little faster.
Who uses the Bohler bone rongeur
Fracture surgeons tidy fragment edges before fixation. Also, small-joint surgeons in the foot shape bone with it. Wrist and elbow cases benefit too.
A trauma surgery name
Lorenz Bohler founded modern accident surgery in Vienna. Several fracture tools carry the Bohler name, including a matching bone cutter. Consequently, this rongeur fits naturally on trauma trays.
Fine shaping
Take small bites and check the edge often. Then switch to the curved jaws when the bone faces away. Additionally, that approach keeps the contour accurate.
Bohler bone rongeur options
- Bite of 2 mm, straight or curved
- Bite of 3 mm, straight or curved
- Fine cupped jaws
- Supplied non-sterile
Care for fine jaws
Fine cups clog quickly, so clear them during the case if needed. Afterward, scrub, rinse and dry the rongeur. Lubricate the pivot and check the tips meet.
