Description
Bendable Retractor, 20 cm
No fixed retractor fits every mouth. A bendable retractor lets the team set its curve before the procedure, so it follows the anatomy rather than fighting it. This model measures 20 cm overall, and the listing gives a second dimension of 18 mm for the blade.
Shaping the Blade Before Surgery
Bend the instrument by hand to the angle you need, ideally while it is still on the tray. Then test the shape against the site briefly before the flap is raised. Gradual, broad curves hold better than sharp kinks, and they also protect the metal from fatigue.
What 20 cm and 18 mm Offer
Twenty centimetres of length lets the blade reach the posterior region while fingers stay beyond the lips. Meanwhile, an 18 mm width covers enough tissue to hold a cheek or a reflected flap without crowding the field. Together these figures suit implant placement, grafting and third molar work.
Where a Custom Curve Pays Off
A malleable blade is useful whenever access is unusual. For example, a patient with limited opening may need a flatter curve. In contrast, a deep vestibule may call for a tighter hook. Because the same retractor can be reshaped for each situation, one instrument covers several roles on the tray.
Before packing, each bendable retractor gets a straightness and finish check at our United States facility. Coverage for this malleable 20 cm blade is three years against manufacturing defects. Ordinary bending within normal use is expected and does not count as damage. It is supplied non-sterile, so wash and sterilize it before any procedure.
Its metal meets the ASTM F899 surgical stainless standard. See more holding tools in our retractor range, and for a rigid alternative look at the 18 cm dog bone retractor. Our FAQ list handles order queries.
