Description
Baby-Adson Artery Forceps
Baby Adson forceps are a finer version of the Adson artery forceps. They come in 14 and 18 cm.
Two lengths
The 14 cm size suits superficial work. However, the 18 cm size reaches deeper small vessels.
Fine jaws
The slender jaws hold small vessels. So they suit delicate tissue.
Artery forceps, not thumb forceps
Many people know Adson as a thumb forceps. However, this product is a ring-handled hemostat with a ratchet.
Where they help
Surgeons use fine clamps like these in neurosurgery and plastic work. Also, the light jaws spare small vessels that a heavy clamp might crush. Therefore many teams keep a few beside the standard Adson. In addition, the two lengths let you work near the surface or a little deeper. So a pair of each covers most fine clamping. Then store them apart from heavier clamps to protect the tips.
Reprocessing Baby Adson forceps
Wash the fine jaws gently with a soft brush. Next, flush and dry. Then keep them in a rack that shields the fine tips.
